Gottschalk, Louis Moreau - Signed Carte-de-Visite 1862 Singers Russia she was the first ThaisAmerican composer and virtuoso pianist (18291869), one of the first figures in American music to attain an international reputation as a composer, Gottschalk spent most of his life abroad and died in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at age 40. Signed carte de visite style photo, by Dunshee, Rhode Island, inscribed and dated in New York in 1862. Size is 4. 25 x 2. 5 inches, signature is on verso, overall toning, otherwise in very good condition. Rare!
